We are very happy to share that our latest work on the „Effect of the Mechanical Pressure on Rate Capability, and Expansion in Multilayer Pouch Cells with Silicon-Dominant Anodes“ has been published in the ECS - The Electrochemical Society!

Our highlights include:
- improved rate capability of silicon anodes compared to graphite anodes.
- improved rate capability with lower temperature increases for higher mechanical pressures (i.e., 0.5 MPa) especially at higher C-rates (e.g., 3C).
- pressure-dependent impedance due to contact resistance
- Decreasing anode thickness and porosity (quantified via pycnometer and mercury intrusion porosimeter measurements) for increasing pressures.
