The course Thermal Powerplants covers the foundations of energy conversion, as well as the processes of renewable energy sources. This course also covers the thermodynamic energy conversion processes, which reflect the latest state of technology (coal power plants, gas and steam power plants, nuclear power plants). In addition, the power plant control systems will be carefully observed.

Educational Goals

The goal of the course is to provide students with the foundational information of energy systems, in order to enable an independent, objective evaluation of these systems.

The Lecture "Energiesysteme 1" is now called "Thermische Kraftwerke" and is a master module.
