Vita

Stephan Schoft (1970) received his diploma degree in electrical engineering from the institute of electricity supply at Erlangen University / Germany in 1996. From 1997 to 2002 he worked as a scientific assistant at the institue of high voltage and high current engineering at Technische Universität Dresden / Gemany. From 2002 to 2004 he joined the institute of high voltage technology at Technische Universität München / Germany in order to continue his research activities on electrical contacts. Since 2004 he is with ABB Sécheron R&D at Geneva / Switzerland. As a project leader he works on the development of medium voltage devices for railway application. In 2021, he was appointed Professor of High Voltage Technology and EMV at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
