From 10-12 April, our yearly spring seminar took place in the TUM academy centre in Raitenhaslach. Our seminar started in Munich on the 10th of April with a fun activity for which we needed a lot of our brain capacity, namely not one but two different escape rooms. Both teams managed to get out of the escape rooms before the hour was over. After that, we went for lunch in Munich before taking our bags and travelling to Raitenhaslach by train.
On Thursday, we started our scientific program. The overall goal of this year’s seminar was to build the groundwork for a new project proposal, focussing on resource allocation in Pseudomonas putida, intended for one theoretical PhD student and one experimental PhD student. We had some interesting presentations on this topic by our current PhD students and brainstormed about what a potential project proposal could look like. We finished of the day by playing code names together in the Restaurant of the hotel.
On Friday morning, we set out to write down some of the things that were discussed the day before and to build a general structure for the future project proposal. In the afternoon, we travelled back to Munich by train. We can look back at a very fruitful spring seminar with lots of good input but also lots of fun.
